2022 Summer Reading Program

Kolbe Trinity encourages all students to participate in the Summer Reading Program. For every 100 pages read (or every three picture books for younger students) students will receive a raffle ticket for prizes in the fall.

Here's how it works:

  • Students complete a book.
  • Students record the title, author, and page count in their reading logs (extras are available on the fireplace in the office. There is one for 5-11 year olds and a different one for the 12+) (Note: Picture books are of a standard length. You can just note these by writing PB in the page count column.)
  • Students twelve and older can earn additional raffle tickets by completing the genre bingo game on the back of their reading logs!
  • Students bring their reading logs to the office during office hours. A faculty/staff member will check the reading log and give the student 1 raffle ticket per 100 pages (or 3 picture books for 11 and under) read.
  • The student puts the raffle ticket (with his/her name on it!) in one of the boxes on the fireplace--just put it in the box of the prize you want for a chance to win!
  • Winners will be drawn at the end of the first week of school.

Note:

For upcoming 5th and 6th graders, it is REQUIRED that you read one of the books in your section of the suggested titles packet and complete a plot diagram (attached, see file: Gr56_Summer Reading.jpg). This is due the first day of school without exception and will be counted towards your literature grade.

Happy reading!
