Tuesday of the 3rd Week in Ordinary Time

St. Francis de Sales, Bishop, Confessor (Traditional Calendar)

From the Headmaster, John Bertolini

Happy Catholic Schools/School Choice Week! Let me once again thank you for choosing to entrust your children to our care. I very much understand and appreciate the sacrifices you are making to send them here and I am truly appreciative to you, the parents, for giving the faculty and staff @ KT the opportunity to collaborate with you as primary educators. Attached to this e-mail you will find a whole schedule of activities for the week.

Last week was short, but busy as usual. Thank you to Miss Wilson and Nora Nava for providing pizza for hot lunch last Wednesday. Many thanks toNatividad Zetina, Odemaris Aparico, and Colleen Roche for sticking around on Friday afternoon to help us beautify the campus in preparation for our open house the next day. A big shout out to Anita Rono, Lucas Carr, and former-student Maggie Immen for helping us at our annual open house this past Saturday. Although we weren’t expecting the blockbuster turnout that we had last year, we had three families attend: one family for enrolling three children in elementary school next year, and two families each looking to enroll their one child in high school in two years.

Feb 5 – Mark Brumley Presents on the Gospel of Mark – Part II – 7:00 P.M,

From Mark Brumley, President of Ignatius Press…

The Gospel of St. Mark is an often misunderstood Gospel. I hope to make it better understood.

This is really an introductory course—a getting acquainted with the main themes of St. Mark’s Gospel.

The sessions will be held at Kolbe Academy-Trinity Prep2055 Redwood Rd, Napa, CA 94558.

People are free to use whatever translation of the Bible they like, but I will be using the Revised Standard Version Second Catholic Edition. I will occasionally refer to the New American Bible translation as well. I will also refer to the Ignatius Catholic Study Bible booklet on the Gospel of Mark, which features the biblical text, as well as commentary and notes by Scott Hahn and Curtis Mitch. It’s available from Ignatius Press
here

In addition to the great commentary and notes, this booklet features a wide margin for note-taking.

Cost: There is no charge but a free-will offering will be encouraged to help support Kolbe Academy-Trinity Prep.

Please attend and forward this email to others you think would be interested in attending.
