Greater Feria of Advent

From the Headmaster, John Bertolini

Gaudete! Rejoice!

As we have now entered the most intense period of the Advent season to prepare our souls for the coming of Christ in Christmas, let me thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of your prayers and sacrifices for the school. Many of you have been praying the St. Andrew Novena and invoking the assistance of Our Lady of Guadalupe so that we receive the funds necessary to maintain and grow this school. I am very pleased to announce that yesterday we received a very generous financial gift from a donor. Let us continue to pray and offer sacrifices in thanksgiving for this donor and their family and let us all do our part to help make this school thrive. As this will be the last Tuesday Memo of the year, let me wish you and your family a blessed Advent, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year. May God grant you and your family a restful and rejuvenating Christmas break. Be sure to check your e-mail inboxes on Friday, Jan 4th for an update before school resumes on Monday, Jan. 7th.

A huge thank you to all of the people who made our first ever Our Lady of Guadalupe Day celebrationpossible: Susana de la Cruz, Ana Montiel, Isabel Ayala, Maria Cuevas, Odemaris Aparacia, Maria Angulo, and Laura Lepe-Garcia. From Spanish processional hymn, sung Mass, reception, posole hot lunch, and play of the story of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

Thank you to Katie Ferrigan and her crew (Maria Cuevas, Sophia Castańeda, Everett Buyarksi, Susanne Madigan-Heun, Allison Bertolini, Pam Birsdall, Tom and Wendy Huss, Mary Quinn, and Melissa Buyarski for pulling off a delicious pasta dinner on St. Lucy’s Feast Day, Dec. 13th. Later that evening, we were honored to host a viewing and rosary for Francis Crotty in the chapel.

It was truly inspiring to see the huge turnout for Francis Crotty’s funeral last Friday, including many of our parents, teachers, and students. He has left us a legacy that we are proud and honored to further enhance and develop. May his soul rest in peace.

Prayer Requests

Please pray for former teacher, Barbara Hall, whose mother, Mary Amelia Lloyd, passed away last Wednesday.

Please remember to pray daily for the repose of the soul of Francis Crotty. His wife, Margaret, has specifically requesting that we storm heaven with prayers for his soul all the way up until Christmas.

Please continue to keep Chuck Rowles and his entire extended family in your prayers so that he will be ultimately cured of his stage-4 colon cancer, and that he can return to enjoying a full and active life with his family and friends. Please continue to pray the St. Peregrine Novena found below as well.
