From the Headmaster, John Bertolini

What a great fundraiser we had on Sunday! Thanks to all of your effort, hard work, and dedication we raised close to $8,000 with little to no expenses incurred. Keep watching your e-mail for a debriefing meeting that will take place in the next couple of weeks to talk about all the things that went well and to discuss all that can be done to make it even more successful next year.

Thank you to Fr. Christopher Crotty (Class of 1986) for leading last week’s overnight high school retreat, chaperoned by Phil and Kendra Duncan.Thank you also to Amy Spain, Francisco Reyes, Kristen Kelly, and Jeanne Anne Ford for driving! Thank you also to all of the parents who showed up for their scheduled parent-teacher conferences last week. If you were unable to make your scheduled appointments, please contact the office and we will do our best to arrange a meeting. Given the very busy weekend we had, it’s not surprising that we had a low turnout for our movie night featuring M. Night Shyamalan’s Unbreakable. Mark your calendars for Friday, Nov. 9th @ 7:00 P.M. for our next film which will be announced soon.

In order to provide a great Halloween experience for the students, student government is requesting help from the parents again this year. We need 20 car trunks decorated and parents to hand out candy for our annual trunk-or-treat. Younger children are welcome to participate as long as they are accompanied by a parent/guardian.

Nov. 9-11 – Box of Joy Drop-Off

Kolbe-Trinity will be a drop-off center for a special Box of Joy project. More information will be forthcoming. For more information please visithttp://www.crosscatholic.org/boxofjoy  or contact Mary Quinn via email mary-quinn@comcast.net or phone 337-1158.

Upcoming Community Events

Oct. 19 – Date Night @ St. A’s – 7:00 P.M.

Date Night returns October 19th.  Once again we will meet in the St. A's Youth Room starting at 7:00 with wine beer and snacks with the program starting at 7:30. Child care is available, but please RSVP to let us know if you are bringing your kids so we know how many to expect.

This month will be the final session on Familiaris Consortio as we will cover Part IV and the Conclusion of the document, Articles 65 - 86.  On the surface this appears to be a lot of material for one DN, however some of the sessions are very short and we should be able to make our way through it in the time we have.

We really hope to see you all there.  We miss you!  Also note that as announced in our previous email, the next DN is on November 16th and we will be meeting for the Steve Ray talk on "Keeping your Kids Catholic" (that isn't exactly the title but something like that - LOL).

Have a Blessed week and we look forward to seeing you on Friday!

Walt and Pam Birdsall on behalf of the Date Night team (Jack and Diane, David and Nancy)
