From the Desk of the Headmaster
Whiteout Night @ Crosswalk last Friday was a fabulous success as we had a great turnout for the last home girls and boys high school basketball games. All our seniors and their parents were honored and presented with flowers by Coach Ken Franklin. I want to once again thank Everett Buyarski, Steve Dilly, Brian Muth, and Koreen Immen (and anyone else I may have forgotten to credit!) for manning the scorebooks and scoreboard all season long and putting in countless hours of service to the school. Your help is greatly appreciated.
Our monthly Saturday workday featured Carr Squared (John & Cindy) who did a great job trimming trees in the TK yard, lots of necessary tidying up in and around campus, and knocked out six service hours! Phil Duncan repainted our chalkboard sign in the front of the school and my wife Allison, and children Gianna and Dominic, helped to tidy up the office area. Isidro Rodriguez took advantage of the good weather to work his landscaping magic and the campus looks great!
Our chaplain and religion teacher, Fr. Gary Sumpter, continues to make slow progress towards full recovery. Today the shunt in his brain to drain any remaining blood was successfully removed, yet he still remains in the ICU, although hopefully not for much longer. Please continue to follow his progress at caringbridge.org and keep up your prayers!

The usual faculty/staff/volunteer appreciation dinner that took place in May has been moved to Thursday, February 23rd and will now simply be a volunteer appreciation dinner prepared and served by our faculty and staff in appreciation for all the hard work put in so far by the parents and volunteers. If you have completed any service hours thus far, you should’ve received an invitation in the mail. Please RSVP to the office by this Friday, Feb. 17th. Thank you for your support!
Tuesday, Feb. 27th – 250/200 Fundraiser Kickoff & Mardi Gras Social – 7:00 – 8:30 P.M.
Please join us for appetizers, beer, and wine as we solicit your valuable input, insight, and ideas for a successful 250/200 fundraiser. We will be gathering in the fellowship hall beginning at 7:00 P.M. The 250/200 is our biggest fundraiser this year and we need all hands on deck to blow this one out of the water! As an added incentive, you can earn up to an hour and a half of service hours and after all, who isn’t looking for an excuse to indulge a little bit before Lent begins……
Saturday, March 4th -Lenten Retreat “Listening to God’s Voice” at St. Apollinaris Parish……from Deacon Peter Matthews

By now you should have received progress reports for all students in grades 1-12. Hopefully you will receive mostly good news and if you receive disappointing news, it won’t come as a shock. Any students receiving a C- or below should have a comment from the teacher explaining why the grade has reached this level and the steps that be taken to improve before the second trimester ends on March 9th. I would also like to remind you that a progress report does not always give an accurate picture of a student’s progress as it can often either give a parent a false sense that everything is going well or, alternately, that there is no hope for improvement. If you have any additional questions or concerns, I would encourage you to schedule a one-on-one meeting you’re your child(ren)’s or adolescent’s teacher.

Meals for the Joe & Katie Duncan Family
Joe, Katie, Jess, and Allie Duncan have just welcomed baby Isabelle into their family and we would love to show them support in this beautiful (and hectic!) time of transition by providing dinners for their family over the next few weeks. Joe has recently done countless hours of volunteer work for this great school coaching 7-8 girls and 5-6 boys basketball, and substituting for P.E. If you can be so kind as cook and deliver them a meal, they would be thrilled! It’s the least we can do for them. Fingerprinting for Volunteers
Anybody who wishes to volunteer to earn requisite service hours and assist in whatever capacity next year (athletic coaching, field trips, driving for sporting events, lunch duty, etc.) MUST have been fingerprinted and needed to have this information submitted to the diocese ASAP. Please contact Emily in the office immediately to begin the process if you have not done so.
Please pray for Laura Fidler’s father, Bill Schwab, who is having emergency pancreatitis surgery tonight. Also please keep Catherine Audrey-Quinn and the extended Andrego family in your prayers.
Ad majorem Dei gloriam!
