Memorial of St. John Bosco

From the Desk of the Headmaster

Happy Catholic Schools Week to you all! You should have received a calendar detailing all the great events that started on Monday with Parent Appreciation Day featuring coffee and donut holes. Today (Tuesday) we had a special physical education event for the Feast of St. John Bosco featuring an all-school capture the flag! Tomorrow we will be graced by the presence of Fr. Anthony Hernandez from St. Basil the Great Church in Los Gatos. Fr. Anthony will celebrate the Divine (Byzantine) Liturgy. Please join us! On Friday, students will be allowed to wear clothing that demonstrates school and/or athletic team spirit by wearing school colors (navy blue, red, and white) or your favorite sports jersey, t-shirt etc! Recall that the usual modesty rules apply.

We had a great turnout last Wednesday evening at the Forge for a Dine-and-Donate.! On Thursday, Bishop Robert Vasa helped to spiritually prepare us for Catholic Schools Week by visiting each classroom and imparting his pastoral words of wisdom: another busy week @ Kolbe-Trinity!

On a more somber note, our chaplain Fr. Gary Sumpter was admitted to the hospital on Friday evening and is currently in stable condition, recovering in the intensive care unit. Fr. Gary Sumpter has been involved with our school for decades, both academically and spiritually, and we miss his prayerful and calming presence around campus. Please pray for his speedy recovery.

Meals for the Joe & Katie Duncan Family

Joe, Katie, Jess, and Allie Duncan have just welcomed baby Isabelle into their family and we would love to show them support in this beautiful (and hectic!) time of transition by providing dinners for their family over the next few weeks. Joe has recently done countless hours of volunteer work for this great school coaching 7-8 girls and 5-6 boys basketball, and substituting for P.E. If you can be so kind as cook and deliver them a meal, they would be thrilled! It’s the least we can do for them. For more information or to sign up, please visit the following website: https://www.mealtrain.com/trains/e773ry

Reminders

from Yearbook Coordinator, Hilary Haeuser……

2016-2017 yearbooks can be ordered in advance by visiting the following website https://link.entourageyearbooks.com/YBStore/yearbookStoreMain.asp?yearbook_id=25183&product_id=13637

from High School Student Government Representative, Hallie Immen……

Kudos to the high schoolers who spent the afternoon today making blankets for the homeless. We can also use your gently used and no longer needed warm blankets as well. Feel free to drop them off in the office.

Fingerprinting for Volunteers

Anybody who wishes to volunteer to earn requisite service hours and assist in whatever capacity next year (athletic coaching, field trips, driving for sporting events, lunch duty, etc.) MUST have been fingerprinted and needed to have this information submitted to the diocese ASAP. Please contact Emily in the office immediately to begin the process if you have not done so.

Prayer Requests

Please pray for the repose of the soul Steve Dilly’s father, Les, who passed away last Friday, that God may grant him eternal rest and give consolation to the entire extended Dilly family.

Don’t forget to keep Catherine Audrey-Quinn and the extended Andrego family in your prayers.

Ad majorem Dei gloriam!

Mr. Bertolini
