Memorial of St. Francis De Sales (New Calendar)

Feast of St. Timothy (Old Calendar)

January 24, 2017

From the Desk of the Headmaster

I hope that my memo this week will follow to the best of my abilities the words of today’s saint, St. Francis De Sales who said, “The more you talk, the less people remember.” A big shout out to the Kolbe-Trinity students and parents who braved the rain and attended last Saturday’s West Coast Walk for Life in San Francisco. As usual, we had an excellent turnout of our crew. Thank you also to our four parents and student who showed up for our monthly Saturday workday. Kudos to Colleen Roche who vacuumed numerous classrooms and the chapel, Adriana Mautner who did an outstanding job in Miss Wilson’s 1-2 classroom, swept the upstairs deck and stairways in the main building, and dusted the chapel, and the Eric Muth and his trusty assistant and son, Nico who replaced burned out lightbulbs in the chapel and replaced furnace filters in the office, and four modular classrooms. My wife, Allison Bertolini, with on-and-off help from my daughter Gianna and son Dominic tidied up the front office area, and cleaned the kitchen. Thanks for all your help!

Upcoming Events!

January 25– Dine and Donate!

On Wednesday January 25th, Kolbe-Trinity will be partnering with The Forge handcrafted pizzeria in Napa for a special “Dine and Donate event.”  We encourage all to join!  To participate, visit the Forge (155 Gasser Drive in Napa) from 11-9pm on the 25th and bring the attached flyer.  15% of your dine-in OR take-out meal will be donated back to the school.  We look forward to a fun filled evening with friends and pizza!

Please feel free to contact Emily at the office with any questions. 707-258-9030 or office@kolbetrinity.org

January 26th – Bishop Vasa Coming to the KT!

To help prepare us for Catholic Schools Week, Bishop Robert Vasa of our own Diocese of Santa Rosa will be visiting all the Catholic schools in the diocese, including us. For those of you who don’t know, Bishop Vasa was instrumental in fully integrating Kolbe-Trinity into the Diocese of Santa Rosa as a privately governed school under his oversight. He will arrive around 7:50 A.M. and will spend the next couple of hours visiting students of all ages in the classrooms. He will NOT offer Mass as he has done in the past to allow more time for classroom visitation.

January 28 – Annual Open House for Prospective Parents – 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M.

Our annual open house for prospective parents will take place Saturday, January 28th from 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. The continued growth and financial stability of this great school rests on growing and maintaining a healthy enrollment. Spread the word to all interested families in your parish and social network!

January 30th – Feb 3rd – Catholic Schools Week

Fun and Enriching Events will include Parent Appreciation Day, St. John Bosco Game Day, Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom (Byzantine Catholic Mass), Student Appreciation Day, and School Spirit Day. Check your e-mail soon for a full schedule!

Meals for the Joe & Katie Duncan Family

Joe, Katie, Jess, and Alli Duncan have just welcomed baby Isabelle into their family and we would love to show them support in this beautiful (and hectic!) time of transition by providing dinners for their family over the next few weeks. Joe has recently done countless hours of volunteer work for this great school coaching 7-8 girls and 5-6 boys basketball, and substituting for P.E. If you can be so kind as cook and deliver them a meal, they would be thrilled! It’s the least we can do for them. For more information or to sign up, please visit the following website: https://www.mealtrain.com/trains/e773ry

New Kolbe-Trinity Apparel Available!

Our new Kolbe-Trinity spirit wear including the now famous fleece modeled by yours truly, is available for purchase! Not only is the apparel attractive, it’s a great way to advertise this wonderful school. And to encourage more of you to buy it, I have decided to temporarily, until the end of this school year, to allow all students from Grades 7-12 to wear it as a uniform sweater.  To place your order, simply go to Athletic Feat (3367 Solano Ave) located in the Redwood Plaza shopping center. Attached is an order form for you to print out and bring with you when you order.

Reminders

from Yearbook Coordinator, Hilary Haeuser……

2016-2017 yearbooks can be ordered in advance by visiting the following website https://link.entourageyearbooks.com/YBStore/yearbookStoreMain.asp?yearbook_id=25183&product_id=13637

from High School Student Government Representative, Hallie Immen……

Kudos to the high schoolers who spent the afternoon today making blankets for the homeless. We can also use your gently used and no longer needed warm blankets as well. Feel free to drop them off in the office.

Fingerprinting for Volunteers

Anybody who wishes to volunteer to earn requisite service hours and assist in whatever capacity next year (athletic coaching, field trips, driving for sporting events, lunch duty, etc.) MUST have been fingerprinted and needed to have this information submitted to the diocese ASAP. Please contact Emily in the office immediately to begin the process if you have not done so.

Prayer Requests

Please pray for Steve Dilly’s father, Les, who is nearing death. In particular, remember to pray for Steve and Tonja as they care for him at his bedside, and for the rest of their family in Washington and California.

Please pray for the repose of the soul Sabine Krygier, co-founder and teacher at Trinity Education Center who passed away Sunday after a long battle with cancer. Thank you for all your prayers for Sabine and her family over the last few months and please continue to pray for her family.

Don’t forget to keep Catherine Audrey-Quinn and the extended Andrego family in your prayers.

Ad majorem Dei gloriam!

Mr. Bertolini
