From the Desk of the Headmaster

I hope your young ones enjoyed their long weekend as we enter a short week tomorrow. Today our elementary school teachers spent the morning and early afternoon @ St. Eugene’s in Santa Rosa engaged in departmental collaboration among math, science, language arts, and individual single-grade classroom teachers. It was a great way to share our unique curriculum with other teachers in the diocese and to absorb good ideas from their many years of teaching experience.

Upcoming Events!

Jan 20th – 8th Grade Day with Bishop Vasa

Eighth graders from across all Catholic schools in the Santa Rosa diocese have been invited by Bishop Vasa to spend a fun, faith-filled, and enriching day at the Cathedral of St. Eugene in Santa Rosa this coming Friday, January 20th. Dean of Students, Phil Duncan, along with another parent chaperone, will be accompanying our eighth graders for this unique opportunity which will enable our students to not only spiritually benefit from the experience, but to potentially make new friends in the process. Since the eighth graders will be attending Mass that day, they will be allowed to arrive at school no later than 8:45 A.M. See the attached flyer for more information.

January 21st –(SA) – Monthly School Work and Maintenance Day – 9:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. -Meetup at Walk for Life in San Francisco – 1:00 P.M.

For those of your who will not be attending this year’s Walk for Life in San Francisco, there’s a great opportunity to earn much-needed service hours at our monthly maintenance and work day this coming Saturday, January 21st from 9:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. Coffee and donuts will be provided. The event will go on, rain or shine, since there are a few indoor projects that need to be completed to help get the school looking as good as possible for our upcoming open house on Saturday, Jan. 28th.

If you are attending this year’s Walk for Life in San Francisco on the same day, Jan. 21st, Kolbe-Trinity students (and parents) are encouraged to march together with our own pro-life banner following the 12:30 p.m. rally. The meetup point will be the Pioneer Monument west and directly facing the front of City Hall at 1:00 P.M.

January 25– Dine and Donate!

On Wednesday January 25th, Kolbe-Trinity will be partnering with The Forge handcrafted pizzeria in Napa for a special “Dine and Donate event.”  We encourage all to join!  To participate, visit the Forge (155 Gasser Drive in Napa) from 11-9pm on the 25th and bring the attached flyer.  15% of your dine-in or take-out meal will be donated back to the school.  We look forward to a fun filled evening with friends and pizza!

New Kolbe-Trinity Apparel Available!

Our new Kolbe-Trinity spirit wear including the now famous fleece modeled by yours truly, is available for purchase! Not only is the apparel attractive, it’s a great way to advertise this wonderful school. And to encourage more of you to buy it, I have decided to temporarily, until the end of this school year, to allow all students from Grades 7-12 to wear it as a uniform sweater.  To place your order, simply go to Athletic Feat (3367 Solano Ave) located in the Redwood Plaza shopping center. Attached is an order form for you to print out and bring with you when you order.

Reminders

Fingerprinting for Volunteers

Anybody who wishes to volunteer to earn requisite service hours and assist in whatever capacity next year (athletic coaching, field trips, driving for sporting events, lunch duty, etc.) MUST have been fingerprinted and needed to have this information submitted to the diocese ASAP. Please contact Emily in the office immediately to begin the process if you have not done so.

Prayer Requests

Please pray for Sabine Krygier, co-founder and teacher at Trinity Education Center who is battling late-stage cancer. Please redouble your prayer efforts for Catherine Audrey-Quinn as she continues to battle cancer.

Ad majorem Dei gloriam!
