Dear KT Family/Friends,
Normally, this would have been sent on Monday, but due to the high winds on Sunday evening which caused our outdoor classroom tents to collapse, we had to spend the better part of Monday putting the campus back together (with lots of help from volunteer parents…thank you so much!) and made the difficult decision to move indoors and accept more risk earlier than we had wanted. Thankfully, we have been able to set up indoor classrooms with 6-feet of distance and plenty of ventilation. Today we welcomed back all TK-6 students on campus and will welcome 7-12 graders tomorrow. Just when we think we’re starting to hit a good groove, 2020 strikes again!
Our tradition of 1-2 grade All Saints presentations continues this Thursday, Oct. 29th @ 2:00 P.M. with a slightly different venue and format. The students will present on the stage outside and we are asking only parents of 1-2 graders to attend to keep our crowd to a minimum.
Join us from within the comfortable confines of your car and truck for a fun, family-friendly, and only slightly scary drive-in movie night on Friday, Oct. 30th where we will proudly present the classic Halloween TV Special “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” followed by the classic “Abbot and Costello Meet Frankenstein”. Snacks and refreshments will be sold at $1.00-a-piece. Thanks to Melissa Buyarksi, we will have a modified Trunk-or-Treat (without trunks….on the lawn) from 6:00 – 6:30 before the movies start. Details are provided in English and Spanish on the attached flyer.
Agape will be held on All Hallows Eve, Saturday, Oct. 31st, from 9:00 A.M. – 3:00 P.M. We would very much appreciate your help preparing boxes to distribute from 9:00 – 12:00 and also help with passing out boxes from 12:00 – 3:00 and cleaning up.
Thank you for your continued prayers for Deana Muth, wife of former principal Brian Muth, who had a brain tumor successfully removed. She is recovering very well and is very appreciative for all the generosity of those who purchased gift cards for the meal train!
Please continue your prayers for John Carr who underwent more aggressive treatment for cancer. He is deeply appreciative to you all for the prayers.
Thank you for your continued prayers for former Kolbe Academy student (and my classmate) Michael Arribage who is currently battling stage-4 kidney cancer. His treatment continues to move in a very positive direction. Please continue to keep Bethany Pham, an 8-year girl battling cancer who is a student at St. Apollinaris Catholic School, in your prayers.
Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam,
Kolbe Academy & Trinity Prep
