Dear KT Family/Friends,

After we finally finished our first full week back on campus for students in grades K-6, we had to move most of our classes online today due to bad air quality due to the Glass fire which broke out on Sunday morning near St. Helena and Calistoga. Some of our teachers and families were evacuated from their homes, and others are preparing to be evacuated. I would like to request that you all re-double your prayer efforts as we attempt to navigate through these increasingly challenging times.

School-Related Event

October 3 (SA) – Workday – 8:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M./ Agape – 3:00 – 7:00 P.M.

We need your help at our workday this Saturday, Oct. 3 from 8:00 A.M.  – 12:00 P.M. as we will be setting up a tent to house the 7-8 grade classes, as well as preparing additional outdoor classrooms for high school. If all goes as planned, we are hoping to welcome back students in grades 7-12 next Monday, Oct. 5th. We’ll also need your assistance with cleaning out our chapel and cry room to prepare it for celebrating Mass with small groups beginning next week. Coffee, donuts, and water will be provided. Please contact Maria Cuevas in the office if you can assist.

Also, Agape is this Saturday. As the need has only increased due to the recent fire over the weekend, we could use your assistance with three shifts10:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M., 2:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. and 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Please contact Maria Cuevas in the office if you can assist.

Prayer Requests

Please pray for Jay and Michelle Hipolito, Kevin Fitzpatrick, the Ayala, Alfaro, Uribe, Rubio and Kelly families who were all evacuated from their homes last night due to wildfires that broke out Sunday morning, and for the Uribe family who has not yet been evacuated.  Also, please pray for Bill Wilson, father of Brigitte Wilson, and her goddaughter, Christiana Quillicci who have both been hospitalized recently.

Please continue your prayers for John Carr who is now undergoing more aggressive treatment for cancer.  He is deeply appreciative to you all for the prayers. Also, please continue to pray for Henry Ramirez, Jay Hipolito’s grandfather, who has once again taken a turn for the worst and is in the hospital.

Thank you for your continued prayers for former Kolbe Academy student (and my classmate) Michael Arribage who is currently battling stage-4 kidney cancer. His treatment continues to move in a very positive direction. Please continue to keep Bethany Pham, an 8-year girl battling cancer who is a student at St. Apollinaris Catholic School, in your prayers. And please pray the Rosary every day for Our Lady’s intercession against the COVID-19 pandemic.
