Feast of the Triumph of the Cross

We had hoped to welcome our entire K-6 student body on campus today for in-person classes, but the continued poor air quality from smoke due to wildfires has caused us to delay that until at least Wednesday. Please continue to keep all of the teachers, staff, but most importantly students and parents, who are having to bear the brunt of this unstable situation.  On a positive note, we had a huge turnout of helpers on Saturday to assist in getting the outdoor classrooms ready to go. A huge thank you to Sonia Campos-Balderas, Melissa Buyarksi, Frankie and Alma Sanchez, Ricardo and Laura Oropeza, Ricardo Cuevas, Cristina Uribe, Carmen Martinez, Maria Angulo and family, Allison Bertolini, Jose Garcia and family, Nabor Andrade, Yul Vieyra, Horacio Guzman, and anyone I may have missed.

Upcoming Events on Campus!

Sep 19 (SA) – Agape – Help Needed from 10:00 A.M. – 8:00 P.M.! Morning, Afternoon, and Evening Shifts Available! 10 – 2/ 12 – 4/ 4 - 8

This Saturday, September 19th, will be another Apage food and essential supplies distribution. We could use your help with parking cars, delivering goods to parked cars, passing out bottles of water, stocking and handing out food, etc…..There are three suggested 4 hour shifts: 10-2/ 12-4/ or 4-8.

Thank you to all of those who have so generously donated their time, talent, and treasure to serve those less-fortunate in the community and may God continue to bless you and your families.

Student Government Fire Victim Aid!

High school student government will be collecting gift cards only for grocery and clothing stores, e.g. Walmart, Target, Raley's, etc. for the victims of the most recent fires in our area. The gift cards can be dropped off in the office at school and will be collected by Friday, September 18 at 4:30. Thank you for your generosity!

Prayer Requests

Please continue your prayers for John Carr who began undergoing more aggressive treatment last week.  He is deeply appreciative to you all for the prayers. Also, Jay Hipolito informed me today that his grandfather, Henry Ramirez has once again taken a turn for the worst and is in the hospital.

Thank you for your continued prayers for former Kolbe Academy student (and my classmate) Michael Arribage who is currently battling stage-4 kidney cancer. His treatment continues to move in a very positive direction. Please continue to keep Bethany Pham, an 8-year girl battling cancer who is a student at St. Apollinaris Catholic School, in your prayers. And please pray the Rosary every day for Our Lady’s intercession against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam,
