Monday of the 11th Week in Ordinary Time

Sts. Vitus, Modestus, & Crescentia, Martyrs (Traditional Calendar)

With a little more than two months until we hope to start school normally, we are having our busiest June ever here on the campus. With all of the work that it takes to run the Agape Program, along with additional meetings with faculty and staff to take extra time to go over reports cards and assessments from the third trimester, and navigate through all of the complicating logistics for opening up as normal (sort of) for next school, very little has slowed down. A big shout out to our teachers who will be continuing to work hard throughout the rest of the month in order to take some well-deserved time-off in July.

Agape Program Update!

The Agape Program continues to serve our community.  Agape is helping with grocery needs for 125-150 Napa families every Wednesday between 5-7.  To give you an idea of the need the line for the open pantry started forming just after noon last Wednesday. People are showing up at noon, waiting  for hours in over 90-degree heat for something that opens at 5.  Agape also continues to help with families afflicted with COVID-19.

If you need assistance, please do not hesitate to call the school or the numbers given of the Agape Team.  If you can help much help is needed.  Agape could use help with donations, checks made out to the school with Agape in the memo line, food or grocery donations dropped off at the school or physical help on Tuesday and Wednesday of each week.

Please pray to the Holy Spirit for continued guidance and for the Agape Team to be able to continue with this mission as long as it is needed.

Our list of alumni volunteers continued to grow with the addition of Nick Hayes and Robert Bakh, who were joined by outside friends to provide much needed support with logistics in delivering food to cars and helping with parking. A big shout out to students Elena Reyes-Mendoza, and Guadalupe and Cristina Angulo who also joined us!

Prayer Requests

Please continue to pray for one of our former teachers, Mr. Matt Badley, as the school where he was teaching in Virginia has announced its closure. Please keep him and his large family in your prayers.  Please continue to keep Jay Hipolito’s grandfather, Henry Ramirez, in your prayers as well as Margaret Crotty who is currently afflicted with cancer.

Thank you for your continued prayers for former Kolbe Academy student (and my classmate) Michael Arribage who is currently battling stage-4 kidney cancer. His treatment is moving in a very positive direction.  Please continue your prayers for Joy Gittings, grandmother of Kara Gittings, who is recovering from cancer treatment and for Bethany Pham, an 8-year girl battling cancer who is a student at St. Apollinaris Catholic School. Please continue to make time every evening to pray the Rosary for Our Lady’s intercession against the COVID-19 pandemic, and for John Carr who is attempting a full recovery from cancer.

Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam
