Monday of the Fifth Week of Easter

Sts. Phillip and James, Apostles (Traditional Calendar)

Despite the very dire financial circumstances afflicting many of our school families, not to mention the entire Napa community, God continues to truly bless us allOver $25,000 has been raised to help fund the Agape Program to help provide food and supplies to needy families in our KT and larger community. Not only will this money be used to continue to purchase food and essential supplies, but also to assist our families who have lost work with tuition assistance for the remainder of the school year and next school year. With God’s help and Our Lady’s intercession, we will continue to push forward, working hard and trusting in God’s loving providence.

With less than three weeks to go in the school year, our administration, teachers, and staff are working just as many, if not more hours than ever before to provide quality instruction to your children in this less-than-ideal scenario. Don’t forget that we are here to assist and facilitate your role as primary educators. We are here for you!

I recently received some disappointing news that Margaret Crotty, wife of the late Francis Crotty, founder of Kolbe Academy, was recently diagnosed with a very aggressive form of brain cancer. Margaret has spent decades in service to Kolbe Academy and its mission and has never stopped doing so. In this time of greater need, we are asking for your increased prayers for her and the Crotty family. Board president Eric Muth has also set up a meal train. Please visit this link to sign up.

Now that everyone is cooking at home, I’m more confident than ever that we can provide some wonderfully tasty meals for Margaret and her daughter, Brigid, who helps to care for her. If you’re not cooking-inclined, don’t have the time, or just plain don’t want to, I understand that Fume Bistro has a wonderful take-out menu.

Oh…and……surprise! Congratulations to the newly-wedded Jay and Michelle Hipolito, married ahead of schedule last Friday! God’s blessings on your life together!

Prayer Requests

Please continue to keep Jay Hipolito’s grandfather, Henry Ramirez, in your prayers. His health has deteriorated considerably and was nearing death. Thanks to your prayers, he has made a rally recently.

Thank you for your continued prayers for former Kolbe Academy student (and my classmate) Michael Arribage who is currently battling stage-4 kidney cancer. His treatment is moving in a very positive direction.  Please continue your prayers for Joy Gittings, grandmother of Kara Gittings, who is recovering from cancer treatment and for Bethany Pham, an 8-year girl battling cancer who is a student at St. Apollinaris Catholic School. Please continue to make time every day @ 1:00 P.M. PDT to pray the Rosary for Our Lady’s intercession against the COVID-19 pandemic, and John Carr who is attempting a full recovery from cancer.
