Monday of the Fourth Week of Easter
St. Monica, Widow (Traditional Calendar)
During the month of May, we are usually holding many activities: the May Crowning, Marian Raffle, Mission/Writer’s Night, Academic Awards Night, Parent-Volunteer Appreciation Dinner, Baccalaureate Mass, Graduation, etc…Although many of these events have been cancelled due to the ongoing pandemic and governmental restrictions, children are still learning, and board members, teachers, and staff are working harder than ever to deliver our education despite the limitations of distance-learning. As this week is teacher-appreciation week, please don’t forget to thank your teachers for all they are doing for your children and their formation and please also let them know how can continue you assist you in this difficult time.
Thank you also to our amazing administrative assistant, Maria Cuevas, who is continuing to manage the office from home and for limited hours during the day. And thank you also to our amazing board of directors for establishing and running the Agape Program. Board members Eric Muth and Anna Hickey were recently interviewed by Catholic News Agency about the Agape Program. You can find the article here: https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/hunger-in-wine-country---how-one-napa-valley-catholic-school-is-helping-needy-families-69261
Also included in today’s Monday Memo as an attachment is full Agape Program update.
Please keep Jay Hipolito’s grandfather, Henry Ramirez, in your prayers. His health has deteriorated considerably and is nearing death.
Thank you for your prayers for former Kolbe Academy student (and my classmate) Michael Arribage who is currently battling stage-4 kidney cancer. He and his wife Sruthi are now the proud parents of a baby daughter. Please continue your prayers for Joy Gittings, grandmother of Kara Gittings, who is recovering from cancer treatment and for Bethany Pham, an 8-year girl battling cancer who is a student at St. Apollinaris Catholic School. Please continue to make time every day @ 1:00 P.M. PDT to pray the Rosary for Our Lady’s intercession against the COVID-19 pandemic, and John Carr who is attempting a full recovery from cancer.
