April 27, 2020

Monday of the Third Week of Easter

St. Peter Canisius, Confessor (Traditional Calendar)

As I mentioned last week, since many of our families are facing difficult times, particularly those whose parents work in the service industry, the Board of Directors launched Project Agape to primarily assist needy families from the school. A big thank you to Bob Quinn who was able to secure over 600 pounds of donated meat from Del Monte Meats and to all of the generous donors who contributed food, supplies, and/or cash to this effort. Thank you to Frances ArendKen and Bernadette Palla, Kathy Thomas, Tony Ryan, Barbara Sciambra, Chad & Toni Williams, Bill Zdanski, Mike and Janet Bakh, Michael and Holly Depatie, and another very generous anonymous donor for generously contributing recently!

If you wish to donate supplies or money to this effort or have any questions, please call Eric Muth 707-363-8461, Mary Quinn @ 707-337-1158, or Anna Hickey @ 707-318-3597. Earmarked cash donations can be sent online through our website www.kolbetrinty.org or by simply mail a check to our address at 2055 Redwood Rd. Napa, CA 94558.

May 1 – Feast of St. Joseph the Worker –Consecration of the USA to Mary, Mother of the Church @ 12:00 P.M. –USCCB Livestream on Facebook -Home May Crowning to Follow

In the place of our traditional May crowning this year, we are encouraging all of our families to have a home May crowning of Our Lady. Instead of holding it on our originally scheduled date of May 6th, we have moved it up to this Friday to align with the U.S. Conference of Bishops’ re-consecration of the United States to Our Lady, Mother of the Church on Friday, May 1st, the Feast of St. Joseph the Worker. At 12:00 P.M. Bishop Jose Gomez of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, chairman of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, will livestream the consecration through the USCCB Facebook page.

We are encouraging all of those parents who participate in the home May Crowning this Friday to take pictures and/or videos and submit them to Maria at office@kolbetrinity.org so that we can post them to our website and facebook page. Thank you to Melissa Buyarksi for the great idea!

Prayer Requests

Please pray for Margaret Crotty, wife of Francis Crotty and one of Kolbe Academy’s founders. She needs your urgent prayers for a serious health condition that will require complicated surgery. Also, please pray for Jerry Cooper, father of many Kolbe-Trinity students, who is recovering at home after a period of hospitalization. Please continue your prayers for Joy Gittings, grandmother of Kara Gittings, who is recovering from cancer treatment and for Bethany Pham, an 8-year girl battling cancer who is a student at St. Apollinaris Catholic School.

Thank you for your prayers for former Kolbe Academy student (and my classmate) Michael Arribage who is currently battling stage-4 kidney cancer. He and his wife Shruthi are now the proud parents of a baby daughter, Leela. Michael is also responding very well to treatment and thinks are moving in a very positive direction. And thank you for continuing to remember John Carr as he continues to recover from cancer.

Don’t forget to make time every day @ 1:00 P.M. PDT to pray the Rosary for Our Lady’s intercession against the COVID-19 pandemic,

Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam
