I hope you and your family were able to tune in to Pope Francis’ extraordinary “urbi et orbi” blessing last Friday. In case you missed it, here’s the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bHiGaXhFJDg I have also attached the text of the blessing in English and Spanish.
Our students have now been home since March 13th, and the first COVID-19 cases in Napa County emerged last week. Given that we are likely still at the beginning of this pandemic in our area, the Napa County Office of Education announced that school will continue to be conducted at home through May 1st tentatively. Upon the directive of Bishop Vasa to follow the guidelines of local health officials, we aligning ourselves with this schedule. Should the situation improve, we will be ready to re-open sooner. I hope and pray that you are adjusting as best as possible to this unprecedented situation.
I am so proud (but once again, not surprised) with how well our community has adjusted to collaborative schooling and distance learning. I know that this has been a more difficult transition for some families than others and I would like to remind you that your teachers, the staff, and the administration of KT are here to help you as best we can. Please don’t hesitate to contact us for assistance with any educational needs.
I would imagine that at least a sizable minority of our families are facing situations where they are either facing reduced working hours or being out of work altogether. Although we are all going to receive some form of relief due to congressional legislation signed into law by President Trump sometime in the middle to the end of April, many may either need relief sooner and/or even the relief they receive in April will not be enough. If any of you are in serious need of money for food and paying your mortgage/rent, please reach out to Maria and we will do our best to provide you with some form of charitable assistance.
I would like to make a passionate appeal to those of you have not been as directly or strongly affected by the current and sudden economic downturn to consider making a donation to Kolbe-Trinity and have it earmarked for family food, rent-mortgage relief and/or tuition assistance for those families how may be struggling to pay their final tuition bill due in April. Our Jog-a-Thon which was originally scheduled for this coming Friday, April 3rd, in which we were expecting to raise $35,000 for the school, has now been postponed till May 15th. Please either donate online through our website www.kolbetrinty.org or simply mail a check to our address at 2055 Redwood Rd. Napa, CA 94558.
Please also consider using your upcoming stimulus checks to pay your registration for the 2020-2021 year early and receive a $50 discount. Early registration has now been extended to Friday, April 24th.
Finally, if you want to order up some good wine for Easter (and Easter Week!), please consider ordering directly from the following wineries whose families are involved at Kolbe-Trinity

Yearbooks Available to Order!
The yearbook staff is still working on your yearbook! Please remember to send in your order forms to the office. Parents with Seniors and 8th graders, we are still doing congratulations pages. Please send your text and photos to firstname.lastname@example.org and payment to the office.
The staff is also planning a “distance learning” section for this unprecedented time we are having. Please send photos of your children learning from home for this section to Sophia as well.
Thank you in advance; prayers for health and safety for all!
Please pray for the repose of the soul one of our former students, Joe Thornton, who died on Thursday, March 26th, and for the consolation of the Thornton family. At the request of one of our school grandmothers, I would like to also ask your prayers for Bethany Pham, an 8-year girl battling cancer who is a student at St. Apollinaris Catholic School. Please continue to make time every day @ 1:00 P.M. PDT to pray the Rosary for Our Lady’s intercession against the COVID-19 pandemic, also remembering former Kolbe Academy student (and my classmate) Michael Arribage who is currently battling stage-4 kidney cancer and John Carr who is attempting a full recovery from cancer.
