Monday of the 2nd Week of Lent/St. Frances of Rome

The third trimester is underway and we will be going full speed ahead into Easter break with our Jog-a-Thon Fundraiser. A big thank you to the Duncan, Wagner, Amador, Uribe, Meyer, Rodriguez, Alba, Haeuser, and Birdsall families for already successfully soliciting Jog-a-Thon business sponsorshipsAll Jog-a-Thon business sponsorships are due no later than 12:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 12th. We are doing a great job soliciting sponsors so far, so let’s sprint to the finish and go for the gold in business sponsorships!

On a more somber note, we are continuing to monitor all of the recent developments surrounding the outbreak of the coronavirus/covid-19. Attached to this memo is a communication from the Napa County Health and Human Services Agency in both English and Spanish. Please read it carefully!

On a happier note, the response to our development dinner has now generated over $40,000! Looks like it might be one our most, if not our most, successful development dinner ever! Money is still coming in…..:)! Thank you all for your prayers and hard work!

Mar. 12 - Mark Brumley Series on Benedict XVI’s The Spirit of the Liturgy

     Session 7 @ 7PM

What does it mean to worship God? How ought we to understand the Liturgy? If Jesus came to bring “worship in Spirit and truth”, why do so many Christians worship in a particular place (church), at a particular time (Sundays), following a particular pattern of worship (liturgy and ritual)? Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI answers these and other important questions in his classic work, The Spirit of the Liturgy. Explore his answers as Mark Brumley leads a nine-session course based on The Spirit of the Liturgy. Classes will conclude on March 19.

Sessions will begin @ 7:00 P.M. and will take place at the school. No charge. Donations gratefully accepted.

Upcoming Community Events

March 29 – May 1 – Consecration to St. Joseph @ St. Thomas Aquinas Parish

St. Thomas Aquinas Church is hosting a 33 Day preparation program for a "Consecration to St. Josephstarting Sunday, March 29, in the parish hall. This 33 day preparation program is based on the very popular new book titled CONSECRATION TO ST. JOSEPH, written by well-known speaker, author, and priest, Fr. Donald Calloway, MIC.

Meetings will take place on Sunday afternoons, starting March 29, from 4:00-5:15 pm to read, pray & discuss the program, and conclude with a Consecration on May 1, Feast of St. Joseph the Worker.

Drawing on the wealth of the Church's living tradition, Fr. Calloway guides us to entrust ourselves to our spiritual father's loving care. In the midst of a world in crisis and at war with the Church, this richly researched program brings to life the wonders, the power, and great love of St. Joseph, Patron of the Universal Church and the Terror of Demons. Registration is necessary to take part in this program.

You can register directly with Tony Ryan by emailing him at ajryan1@gmail.com  confirming that you are taking part or register in the parish hall at St. Thomas after weekend Masses starting March 14-15. The only cost is the book, CONSECRATION TO ST. JOSEPH, which is $15 and you can order it online at: Shopmercy.org, or call toll-free at 1-800-462-7426. Connolly Ranch Easter Break Camp: April 13-17

This Spring, our discovery - based curriculum will focus on new beginnings. Together we will tune into the ever changing environment, begin planting seeds in our edible garden, care for our new baby animals and meander the trails of Westwood Hills. Campers will also engage in projects and activities centered around eco -art, farm-to-table cooking, music and movement.

Our unique environment and all its loose parts provides spontaneous opportunities to learn from what “just happened”; allowing children to become dynamic learners, divergent thinkers and mindful leaders.

Easter Break Camp is open to children Kindergarten through 5th grade and runs from 8:30 - 3:00 pm with the option to register for aftercare until 5:00 pm.
