March 2, 2020
Monday of the 1st Week of Lent
The third and final trimester is underway! With less than three months to go until the end of school and the beginning of summer break, the third trimester is the most frenzied and distracting. Please continue to collaborate with us to ensure proper focus and good study habits as the summer vacation approached.
Our last fundraiser of the year, Jog-a-Thon, will officially kick off tomorrow, March 3rd @ 8:00 A.M. I am pleased to announce our Jog-a-Thon coordinator for 2020: Katie Duncan! Katie went to Kolbe Academy and is a graduate of Trinity Grammar and Prep (Class of 1996). Her children Jessica and Allie attend KT and her youngest, Isabella, will be joining us as soon as she is old enough to be registered in TK! Katie will be in charge of coordinating logistics with the hopes of raising $35,000!
It’s already time to start getting ready for next year’s registration! As we did last year, we will be offering a special incentive to families to register early. Each family who registers and pays by Friday, March 27th will receive a $50 discount on registration.
Financial aid from the school will be awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis and will require all families with students in grades TK-8 to apply online through FACTS which will qualify families for the Aquinas Scholarship from the Dioecese of Santa Rosa. Families who qualify for the BASIC fund are also required to apply. The deadline for both of these applications is Monday, March 16th. It is always the goal of the school to have financial aid decided by the end of the current school year, giving families time to make their their own financial decisions regarding next year. We encourage our families to submit letters to the school if you believe you have special circumstances that you would like us to consider that will not be reflected in the FACTS application.
Please watch your snail mailboxes or e-mail inboxes for tuition/registration contracts soon!
It was great to see such a wonderful turnout of parents at Ash Wednesday Mass! Know that you are always welcome to attend Mass Mondays, and Wednesdays-Friday at 7:45 A.M. During Lent we will pray the Stations of the Cross @ 2:30 P.M. on full day Fridays and 7:45 A.M. on half-day First Fridays. Please joins us and have a fruitful Lent!

Mar. 5 - Mark Brumley Series on Benedict XVI’s The Spirit of the Liturgy
Session 6 @ 7PM
What does it mean to worship God? How ought we to understand the Liturgy? If Jesus came to bring “worship in Spirit and truth”, why do so many Christians worship in a particular place (church), at a particular time (Sundays), following a particular pattern of worship (liturgy and ritual)? Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI answers these and other important questions in his classic work, The Spirit of the Liturgy. Explore his answers as Mark Brumley leads a nine-session course based on The Spirit of the Liturgy. Classes continue on Thursday, March 5, and will also be held on March 12, and 19.
Sessions will begin @ 7:00 P.M. and will take place at the school. No charge. Donations gratefully accepted.

Our unique environment and all its loose parts provides spontaneous opportunities to learn from what “just happened”; allowing children to become dynamic learners, divergent thinkers and mindful leaders.
