Jan. 26-Feb. 1 (Catholic Schools Week)

Jan. 13, 2020

St. Hilary, Bishop & Doctor

Baptism of the Lord (Traditional Calendar)

Less than two weeks to go until our first ever crab feed fundraiser @ Napa Golf Course on Sat. Jan. 25th @ 6:00 P.M. This fundraiser is a fun and easy way to involve our entire community in a great party which benefits our school. There is no other Napa crab feed offering a lower price than so you are not only supporting the school, but getting a bargain!

We are doing our best to promote this event on Facebook, Patch, Nextdoor, the Napa Valley Register, Napa Valley Marketplace, and by placing flyers in bars, hotels, and coffee shops all over Napa, but we need your help for this be successful. What do we need from you? Buy tickets! If each couple at our school bought a pair of tickets, we would sell 108 tickets and raise over $8,000! That leaves us with 92 tickets left to sell for a sell-out @ 200. If every couple brought another couple from outside the school to attend, we would easily reach capacity and raise $15,000 for the school in pure profit since our generous sponsors Greger-Pacific Marine, the Louise M. Davies Foundation, and Chateau Montelena (along with three others with whom we are in negotiations) will cover the entire cost of the event!

Spread the word! Tickets can be purchased online at

If you can’t afford tickets, volunteer to work the event and find another outside couple to take your place! See Maria to sign up.

And to sweeten the deal, we will be providing free childcare at the school that evening from 5:30 P.M. – 10:30 P.M. A free-will donation of your choice to the high school prom committee would be greatly appreciated.

On behalf of parents’ guild president Colleen Roche, I would like to thank our attendees at this month’s parent guild meeting: Julio & Susana Rodriguez and Joan Andrego who have volunteered to place promotional flyers around Napa.  Your time and commitment to the school are crucial towards its success.

Jan. 16 – Mark Brumley Series on Benedict XVI’s The Spirit of the Liturgy –

Session 1 @ 7PM

What does it mean to worship God? How ought we to understand the Liturgy? If Jesus came to bring “worship in Spirit and truth”, why do so many Christians worship in a particular place (church), at a particular time (Sundays), following a particular pattern of worship (liturgy and ritual)? Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI answers these and other important questions in his classic work, The Spirit of the Liturgy. Explore his answers as Mark Brumley leads a nine-session course based on The Spirit of the Liturgy. Classes begin Thursday, January 16, and continue January 23 and 30February 6, 13, 27March 5, 12, and 19.

Sessions will begin @ 7:00 P.M. and will take place at the school. No charge. Donations gratefully accepted.

Jan. 25 – Crab Feed Fundraiser @ Napa Golf Course – 6:00 – 9:00 P.M.
