November 4, 2019

St. Charles Borromeo, Bishop

The Christmas wreaths fundraiser is upon us! Thanks to your hard work last year, we set a record by raising $5,275 and I am confident that we can exceed that amount and net $7,000 provided that we follow this easy 5-step process from now until Sunday, Nov. 17th.

1)   Sell as if it ALL depended on you! Our school serves an important mission in the life of the Catholic Church. In order for this to be successful, we need 100% participation. If we all take ownership, we will meet and exceed our goal easily.

2)   Sell in your neighborhood! Almost everybody lives in a neighborhood with an exclusive built-in customer base.

3)   Take advantage of opportunities to sell at your parish! Members of St. Helena Catholic, St. Joan of Arc, Holy Family (Rutherford), the Carmelite Monastery, and St. Thomas Aquinas have been given permission to sell after all Masses on the weekends of Nov. 9-10 and Nov. 16-17.

4)   Parents – Take an order form with you to your place of business during the week!

5)    Sell to your grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins!

As I often remind the students, you are our best salespeople and with just a little effort, you can accomplish great things.

It was a shorter week than anticipated @ Kolbe-Trinity due to the unexpected closure on Monday, Oct. 28 due to power being out, but we rebounded on Tuesday to have a very productive short three-day school week. Thank you to the 1-2 students, their parents, and Miss Wilson for another beautiful All Saints presentation in the chapel on Tuesday. Congratulations to the 5-6 students, their parents, and Mrs. Fidler on a wonderful performance of “The Pirates of Penzance” at this year’s “Opera a la Carte” with the San Francisco Opera Company. Our short week concluded with an afternoon of Halloween fun. Thank you to all of the parents who participated in this year’s trunk-or-treat and to the high school student government for putting on another great program of activities.

Help Support Kolbe-Trinity Graduate Michael Rowles!

Kolbe-Trinity alumnus Michael Rowles is doing fundraising for a service trip to Guatemala to provide medical support and build homes for the less fortunate. This trip is organized through the University of Mary Physical Therapy program and provides outreach for underprivileged farming communities in Guatemala. He is looking to raise money for the travel expenses and to be able to donate supplies to the families in need. Any support that you can provide for this trip will be greatly appreciated! If you would please share his GoFundMe page on Facebook and spread the word that would be amazing! If you are interested in donating, the GoFundMe link is https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-me-pay-for-a-service-trip-to-guatemala?rcid=r01-156951904335-04d77f83b8804825&pc=ot_co_campmgmt_w .
