October 21, 2019

Monday of the 29th Week in Ordinary Time

St. Hilarion, Abbot/Sts. Ursula & Companions, Virgins & Martyrs

(Traditional Calendar)

Tomorrow I will be flying out to the Philadelphia area along with board member, John Kelly, to meet with one of our most generous donors. I would like to ask for your prayers for all of the generous donors who continue to give so generously to our mission in an increasingly challenging time financially. Without their generosity, this school would have never been founded or continued to stay operational. May God continue to bless them and their families.

Due to my trip, along with Mr. Duncan’s participation at an accreditation visit @ St. Rose school in Santa Rosa, Mr. Hipolito will be in charge of all administrative matters from Tuesday, Oct 22 – Wednesday, Oct. 23rd. I will be back in on the office on Thursday, Oct. 24 and Mr. Duncan will be back on Friday, Oct. 25th.

Although our week was short and contained three half-days, it was very productive. A big thank you to our chaplain, Fr. Gary Sumpter and chaperones Cindy Mudge, Mary Quinn, Maria Angulo, and Pat Arend who all assisted in either leading, chaperoning, or preparing food for both the high school girls retreat at the Marello Youth Center in Loomis and the high school boys retreat at Holy Transfiguration Monastery in Redwood Valley, outside Ukiah. Another big thank you to all of the parents who took time out of their busy schedules to attend parent-teacher conferences. Your collaborative efforts with our teachers will help to ensure the best possible spiritual, academic, and social success of your child(ren).

Our work day on Saturday, Oct. 19th was sparsely attended with only Mr. Hipolito, myself, and one parent: Dennis Healey. Dennis is the parent of multiple graduates from Kolbe-Trinity, many of whom have attended all the way since first grade. His youngest daughter, Eileen, is now a sophomore, and we will only have the benefit of his dedicated service for another 2 and a half years. I would like to encourage each and every one of the parents, particularly those who have not yet completed any of their required 30 service hours, to mark the date of Saturday, Nov. 16th on their calendar from 9:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. Despite having a paid part-time maintenance supervisor in Mr. Hipolito, the amount of work at the school requires more than one part-time maintenance supervisor. Please make every effort to attend.
