St. Jerome, Priest and Doctor of the Church

I apologize for not sending a Monday Memo last week, but events outside of my control transpired that made me unavailable to do so. As you saw in Sep. 16th’s Monday Memo, my niece Ida Hatke, aged 4, was injured by a horse. Unfortunately, she passed away on Wednesday, Sep. 18th and her funeral and burial took place on Monday, Sep. 23rd in Strasburg, Virginia. On behalf of my sister, Anna (Kolbe-Trinity alum), I would like to extend my sincerest gratitude to the Kolbe-Trinity community for their prayers and financial support, not only for Anna and her family, but for my family as well. We could have never afforded to make this trip on short notice, but due to your tremendous generosity, we were able to be there to support Anna’s family in their grief. I am truly blessed to have you as brothers and sisters in Christ.

On a related note, Anna and her family will have a tremendous financial burden to bear and if you could help support her, I would appreciate it. A website has been set up to receive donations and it has already exceeded $100,000. If you have already given, thank you! If not, please prayerfully consider if you have the means to do so. You can give by visiting the following page: https://www.givesendgo.com/idahatke

A big thank you to Mrs. Warner, Miss Wilson, Mrs. Rowles, and Mrs. Fidler for an excellent job preparing your children for a very wonderful grandparents’ day reception last Wednesday, Sep. 18th. And a big thank you to all of the grandparents who turned up and especially to the children for doing such a great job!

Thank you to new board member, Brendan RocheMarissa Amador, Cindy Mudge, Janet Bakh, and Anna Hickey for helping out with last Friday night’s event with Fr. Paul Murray! Your help and support were crucial.

Our international food festival fundraiser on Sunday, Sep. 22nd was a success! Thank you to chairwoman Anna Hickey, with assistance from Maria Cuevas. A big thank you to all of the families who helped out in whatever capacity as there are too many to name!

As of now, we have raised over $6,5000 and hope to raise that total by your purchase of some amazing donated cheese (thanks to the Rono family) that is currently sitting in the refrigerator at the school. Please see the attached document (in both English and Spanish) listing inventory and prices. If you are interested in purchasing, please see Maria in the office.
