Upcoming Outside Events

New and Improved Date Night!.....from Walt and Pam Birdsall

Dear Friends,

Thank you to all who responded to our survey about Date Night.  Based on the responses, we are changing the day from Friday to Saturday and are going to start off each monthly gathering with a potluck family dinner.  The potluck concept was unanimous among the respondents and the Saturday vs Friday option was almost unanimous as well.  Our new season will feature a program called "United in Love United in Christ", a 6 session video series that features Sacred Scripture, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, magisterial documents, and quotations by holy men and women, as well as personal stories from couples who are striving to live out their marriage in Christ to provide practical steps in building on what St. John Paul II taught to be the “infallible” and “indispensable” way to a truly united and faithful love.

We will have our kickoff for the New and Improved Date Night on Saturday September 7th in the parish hall at 5:45 (following the 4:30 Mass) where we will share a meal as families and then have the kids go to their own activities while couples participate in the program.  The United in Love series will start in October but for the kickoff Fr. Fergal will be giving a talk entitled "Consortium Totius Vitae: Marriage as a Partnership of the Whole Life".  You will definitely not want to miss it!

If you are attending the potluck, then please bring a dish to share based on the following:  Last name starts A-I, Main Dish, J-R, salad or veggie dish, S-Z, Dessert.  Beverages and supplies will be provided.  Please RSVP by replying to this email or call/text 707-738-4535.

Also, we would really like to see as many families come to Date Night as possible and even though we send out emails and put announcements in the bulletin, the best way to bring more people is for each of us to personally ask someone to come.  We believe that the program will be of great value to marriages and will build community among families, so please, consider attending yourself if you have not been in a while, and also inviting other families that you know.

God Bless you all and we hope to see you on the 7th!
